While Wrexham AFC is busy paving the path for promotion. Wrexham AFC Women has just written history. They just won Genero Ardan Premier. This is the first time the women’s team has won at the highest tier of Welsh soccer. Currently, both teams are performing historically and fans are enjoying their domination.
There has been a wave of change to the club ever since Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the 5th-tier Welsh club in 2021. Fans were surprised at first, then became skeptical about their abilities to run the club. However, everyone is shocked at how well these two manage everything and take the club to a new height. This is the first trophy Wrexham AFC Women has even won.

Just like the men’s team, Wrexham AFC Women are dominating its opponent. They won 11 out of 11 matches in the league. Although one more match to go, their lead in the league has cemented their claim to the trophy. At their home, Racecourse ground, the team will lift the trophy on 26th March concluding the season.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney both congratulated the team in their own ways. McElhenney shared the Tweet by Wrexham AFC Women. He wrote, “CONGRATS TO @WrexhamAFCWomen FOR THEIR FIRST TITLE IN HISTORY!!!!” while the Deadpool actor shared the news on Instagram. On his Instagram story, he wrote, “Wrexham AFC Women Have taken the league!!!”

Standing beside their star player
The star owners have shown immense support to the players of the club. Even when something goes south, Reynolds or McElhenney comes out in support of the members. On Saturday against Maidenhead United, the Wrexham goalkeeper made a blunder in judgment. He came forward to kick the ball, but the players went right at him and scored in the 90th minute.

This Hail Mary of a goal led the game to a 2-2 draw. Wrexham is still at the top and it did cost the club a couple of points, but Ryan Reynolds had something to say about his star goalkeeper. On his Instagram story, he wrote, “WE WIN TOGETHER, WE DRAW TOGETHER. MARK HOWARD HAS PUT IN THE WORK THIS SEASON.” Fans are eager to see the club promote, but only time will tell if it happens or not.
