The team played its first season this year and performed better than what you would expect from a brand-new team.

Alexis Ohanian got a new showpiece for the office

The husband of tennis legend Serena Williams shared a photo on Twitter where it was appearing to be teasing the fans as he got the game ball from the first season of Angel City FC. This is the ball that they play one of their matches with.

He wrote, “Bought a @weareangelcity game ball from our inaugural season for the office. Our suite location is no joke — caught two of these during matches this year“. While holding the ball in his hand.

Angel City FC played 22 matches in their first season, out of which they won 8 and were able to draw 5. They finished in the 8th spot with 29 points. They surpassed clubs like NJ/NY Gotham FC and Washington Spirit. It was just two years ago when Alexis decided to go through investing in the club and informed Serena Williams about it.

While talking with Natalie Portman about the team, Serena Williams once talked about how the performance of USWNT inspired her to invest in women’s soccer. She told how Alexis inform her about USWNT and she fell in love with the idea of having a team.
