How one misplaced picture can turn into entertainment for fans? MLS has learned it well. Sunday was an important day in the history of MLS, as Inter Miami welcomed Lionel Messi. But he wasn’t the only signing, as David Beckham’s club also reunited Messi with long-term Barcelona teammate, Sergio Busquets. But it seems like MLS had other plans with Busquets’ announcement.
In a tweet, MLS welcomed the former FC Barcelona midfield maestro with a photo that wasn’t exactly… him. Instead of the legendary midfielder, they offered a delightful picture of his former national teammate and club rival. Bravo, MLS bravo. Meanwhile, their baffling mix-up left the fans mercilessly trolling the American league.

Inter Miami is the talk of the town, and so is MLS. They have landed massive signings, Messi and Busquets, on a free transfer. Jul 16 was the day to unveil the former Barcelona teammates. Inter Miami made the Busquets signing official after Messi and MLS took the opportunity to welcome the Spanish World Cup winner.
But the social media team of the soccer league did a blunder. They tweeted a pic with the caption, “All he does is win.” However, the image they used to welcome Busquets was that of Alvaro Arbeloa, former Spanish and Real Madrid player.
why do arbeloa and busquets look so similar in these. admin needs new glasses…🤓🤦♂️ pic.twitter.com/dxRmOvdMaI

Soon, they rectified it by adding the pic of Busquets with the 2010 World Cup instead. And to cover up their blunder, MLS tweeted with pics of Arbeloa and Busquets, captioning it, “Why do Arbeloa and Busquets look so similar in these. Admin needs new glasses.”
It was too late for them, as fans were already at their trolling best.
