USWNT‘s early exit from the World Cup has generated a lot of drama surrounding the team. The team was bashed by the media and experts for their poor display throughout the tournament. Former captain Carli Lloyd was displeased at the team’s antics as she questioned the team’s mindset. She also slammed ex-teammate Megan Rapinoe for being the weak link.

During the group stages of the World Cup, the USWNT managed to barely edge past Portugal following a draw. Following their qualification, the players were dancing with fans which did not go well with Lloyd. With her constant criticism, one fan on Twitter questioned her political bias towards Megan Rapinoe, which drew a fiery response from the ex-captain.

As Lloyd continues to criticize Megan Rapinoe, her words did not go down well with one fan who questioned the ex-star’s bias. Lloyd was quick to shut down the person as she claimed the criticism had nothing to do with her political views, as the target is always winning.

“Dude….You are wild, totally off base, and speaking nonsense. Stop making this a political thing when it’s not. Winning was always the ultimate goal”. The former USWNT star seemingly did not hold back while replying to the fan. Along with Lloyd, even Rapinoe has been facing constant criticism after their premature return from the World Cup.

Former US President Donald Trump, ex-USMNT star Alexi Lalas, and UFC star Jorge Masvidal have also slammed Rapinoe for the downfall of the USWNT.

Fans and experts alike have been on Megan Rapinoe’s heels following the team’s exit from the World Cup. Many have claimed that Rapinoe is one of the key reasons behind Team USA’s lack of drive as they have become too ‘woke’. Alexi Lalas claimed that the team has lost its edge and lost the love and support of the fans.

In his podcast, Lalas claimed that ever since Rapinoe refused to go to the White House following the World Cup win in 2019, the team has dived down a cliff. Rapinoe has yet to respond to any of the criticism. The player missed a crucial penalty in the quarter-final against Sweden that knocked the USWNT out of the World Cup. That’s mainly why she has been on the wrong end of the public uproar.
