Megan Rapinoe opens up on dazzling hair color

During the 2019 World Cup campaign, Rapinoe got her hair dyed pink. While many may consider it a fashion statement, the OL Reign forward revealed she did it for the importance of society.

“I always tell myself: look good, feel good, and play good, in that order. You have to have that for yourself. When you have that, you just go out there with less pressure. It was a fun way to express my style and my individuality. Obviously at a World Cup everything is so serious and stressful. It was a fun way to send everyone to hell,” she added.

“I think the beauty industry has favored only one gender. If you want to be beautiful, you have to look this way and it’s feminine. And if you want to be more sporty, then it’s masculine. Why do you have to separate it? I can be sporty and strong and still feel beautiful.”

“For me, having pink hair is a way of expressing how I relate to beauty. When I’m on the court, I want to look beautiful. That’s a different form of beauty than when I’m out to dinner or when I’m on a photo shoot,”  added Rapinoe. This shows how much Rapinoe is keen to make a change in society.

Rapinoe was left out of the USWNT roster

It wasn’t a good weekend for Rapinoe as she endured a narrow loss in the NWSL. Her side lost 1-0 against the Washington Spirit. However, that wasn’t the end of the bad news for her, as she was left off the World Cup roster.

The first game will be played at Q2 Stadium in Austin on Saturday, April 8. Meanwhile, the second one will be played on Tuesday, April 11, at the CITYPARK in St. Louis. Either way, the World Cup winner hasn’t been included in the roster. Perhaps she was given some rest, but either way, nothing has been said about her absence.
