USMNT fans are disappointed yet again. After their amazing run in the group stage of the FIFA 2022 World Cup, the team has failed to repeat the same performance. These friendlies were both supposed to be one-sided for USMNT. However, they both turned into a nightmare for fans and the team. The team was playing without their key players, who are busy in Europe. But, these matches are still supposed to be an easy win for the USA but the result came out very disappointing. These two matches created a big doubt in fans’ hearts about the future of the team as major tournaments are coming up in a few years.

It was heartbreaking for USMNT to see the team lose against a much weaker Serbia. The 2-1 loss put fans in a tough spot and the team had to face intense criticism. Everybody thought it was going to be an easy win but, the team seem lost on the pitch and lost the game. The outrage of fans on Twitter can be justified as they have limited time before the CONCACAF Nations League matches.

After losing an easily winnable game against Serbia, USMNT faced the Columbian team. They also considered this match to be an easy win for USMNT. Although they didn’t lose this game, they weren’t able to win it either. The match ended in a goalless draw. In an easy match, USMNT had only 45% possession and could only manage to get 5 shots. A goalless draw with a much-much weaker side is something to worry about. Fans are getting frustrated and with USWNT on a booming ride terrorizing every team they fave the differences between these teams are glaring.

USA to host Copa America 2024

The next edition of Copa America will be in 2024 and the governing body recently announced that the USA will be hosting the tournament. This is a great opportunity for USMT as they might face big teams like Brazil or Argentina. This tournament might be a building block of the blueprint of USMNT’s performance in the 2026 WC.
