At last, we have reached the concluding stage of the UEFA Euro 2024. Spain and England will lock horns in a much-anticipated final on July 14, 9:00 PM local time (CET) at the 74,000-seater Olympiastadion Berlin. After 50 matches played among 24 teams, these two teams stand tall for the reign of supremacy.

Spain is coming with a remarkable 2-1 win over France. Another two first-half strikes of exceptional youngsters Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo denied les Blues’ early lead inside. Luis de la Fuente’s side is still unbeaten in the tournament. They have become the first-ever side in the Euros to win six games in a row to reach the final.

Meanwhile, England is also coming with a similar victory over the Netherlands in the semi-finals. The Oranje took the lead inside 10 minutes, but a controversial penalty scored by Harry Kane equalized the score, with Ollie Watkins finding the winner in the final minutes. Interestingly, this is England’s second consecutive final.

Spain vs England: Injuries and predicted lineups

Injuries

Spain

The key player missing for Spain vs England is Pedri. The FC Barcelona midfielder sustained a heavy tackle in the quarter-finals vs Germany from Toni Kross. Unfortunately, fresh concern has arisen regarding Alvaro Morata. A security guard accidentally took the skipper down following France’s victory.

While De la Fuente confirmed in the post-match presser that the striker was in pain, he is expected to be fine to play.

Speaking of suspensions, Dani Carvajal missed the previous game due to suspension after he was sent off against Germany. However, he will return to the starting lineups, especially after Jesus Navas walked off injured. Additionally, Robin Le Normand was also banned in the previous game but will make a return.

England

Though there are no injury concerns for England, Gareth Southgate is certain to face some tough choices while picking his best XI. Starting with the left-back role, Kieran Trippier has done a fine job. However, the return of Luke Shaw from injury could see the Newcastle United star get replaced, if not, at least for the latter half.

Meanwhile, in midfield, Trent Alexander-Arnold didn’t work out for Southgate, who finally gave a chance to youngster Kobbie Mainoo. And it’s safe to say that the Manchester United star has done a solid job. However, for Harry Kane, there might be bad news. The skipper has been sluggish upfront and can be replaced—at least in the latter half—by Ivan Toney or last match hero, Ollie Watkins.

Predicted line-ups

Spain predicted lineups (4-3-3): Simon; Carvajal, Le Normand, Laporte, Cucurella; Rodri, Ruiz; Yamal, Olmo, Williams; Morata

England predicted lineups (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Walker, Stones, Guehi; Saka, Mainoo, Rice, Shaw; Foden, Kane, Bellingham.

This might be one of the most tense finals in the history of Euros. Both sides are dominant in their own ways and are expected to impress. Though history suggests England has a better record against the Spaniards, we feel otherwise. Our prediction for the match will be England 1-1 Spain and then the game will head to penalties where La Roja will come across as the tournament winners.
