Son Heung-min has become a global phenomenon in the soccer world. The 30-year-old South Korean forward has established himself as one of the biggest players in the Premier League since signing for Tottenham Hotspur in 2015. The former Puskas Award winner has been a huge asset for Tottenham with his sublime shooting, dribbling, and pitch movement.
And now Heung-min has made his way onto the big screen. He is set to feature in a special Easter egg appearance in the new Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse movie.

The animated movie is a sequel to the widely popular Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse. It was released back in 2018 and its sequel is set to arrive in theaters come June 2023. The new film of the Spider-verse series has been much anticipated by fans all over the world. As it will feature a plethora of Spidermen from numerous versions of the multiverse.

What was more surprising for many was the special appearance of Son Heung-min in the movie. In one of the recently released teasers of the movie, a certain scene features the movie’s main character ‘Miles Morales’ shown in his room. In one clip, Morales is seen to have a poster of Son Heung-min in a Tottenham jersey hanging on the wall. This has grabbed the attention of soccer fans.

This is an especially interesting Easter-egg as Tom Holland who portrays Spiderman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a huge fan of Tottenham Hotspur. This could very well be a huge Easter-egg related to this fact. However, this is not the first Son and Spiderman connection we have seen. Interestingly and ironically, one time, Son did a Spiderman celebration on the soccer pitch.
Tom Holland inspired Son’s celebration
In December 2021, a meeting between Tom Holland and Son Heung-min left its mark on Tottenham’s soccer team. Only days after the encounter, Spurs debuted their new form of celebration when they won 3-0 against Norwich City.

When Son Heung-min scored the third goal, Spurs players ran to huddle together using the iconic Spiderman pose in their jubilation. Now it looks like the special Easter egg in the new Spiderman movie seems to pay homage to this unique connection.
