Ryan Reynolds has sparked excitement in Wrexham, a small soccer club tucked away in Wales. For the past 15 years, Wrexham AFC had suffered in the fifth division of English soccer, but this year marks a turning point for the club. After a tumultuous last decade and a half, the National League side achieved promotion to the fourth division.
The days following the historic win have included celebrations of this amazing promotion. The victory has also meant so much for the Hollywood duo that instead of attending the Met Gala, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney opted to celebrate with a special bus trip with all the players and fans of Wrexham.

Reynolds, who cut a people-focused, inspirational figure during the journey, is more familiar than ever with the town’s loyal fanbase. The recent elation of the National League victory hasn’t shot Reynold’s dreams any lower. Rather, he has reiterated his belief in the club’s potential for greatness.
Ryan Reynolds reveals big ambitions for Wrexham
In a recent interview, Reynolds spoke about wanting to keep growing the soccer club. He did so while citing ambitions for a stronger soccer club as the long-term goal, rather than referencing any financial benefit.
In order to bring them closer to his goal, he shared that his mission was to get Wrexham to the Premier League. The distance between the fifth division and the Premier League leagues seems extreme, but Reynold is adamant this is the best possible course of action to take.
'Whether it takes five years, whether it takes 20 years, that's the goal.'

“Of course, our goal is to get to the Premier League – why wouldn’t it be, if we can do that? Whether it takes five years, whether it takes 20 years, that’s the goal, that’s the mission,” the actor said. The goal may seem far-fetched for the team that has just this year scratched and clawed its way out of the fifth division. But to Reynolds, it is enthusiastically “100 percent” possible.
Reynolds’ love for the Red Dragons is clearly growing day by day. This is especially evident from his latest decision to snub the Met Gala for Wrexham’s bus parade.

Wrexham achieved a historic feat that truly merited celebration. So much so for the owners Ryan and Rob that they even scorned the current year’s Met Gala. Reynolds preferred to travel on the Open bus tour with the men’s and women’s team players to celebrate both of their promotions rather than purchase a $50,000 ticket to the Met Gala dinner.

Fans lined up to express their appreciation and show solidarity with both men’s and women’s teams. The streets of the Welsh town were flooded with supporters as they showered their love. Accompanied by players from both squads, Reynolds and McElhenney enjoyed a festive atmosphere that was out of this world.
