It looks like Marcus Rashford’s time at Manchester United is finally coming to an end. The English forward, who has been a part of the Red Devils since 2015 as an academy prospect, appears to be on his way out. While many might see this as a much-needed fresh start for Rashford, Frank Leboeuf cautioned the forward, stating that ‘it’s going to be hard for a club’ to be willing to pay the kind of money required to sign him.
Despite the weight it carries with his name, the out-of-favor Three Lions forward has been asked which club would actually decide to spend money on his signature, despite a potential list of suitors making its way. It all began on ESPN FC’s Xtra Time segment. Leboeuf, alongside the panel of Kay Murray, Ale Moreno, and Jan Aage Fjortoft, was asked how Rashford’s body language has been called way off and should consider departing United.
Interestingly, Leboeuf began, “Yeah, it’s definitely way off,” while highlighting the 27-year-old’s shortcomings in the recent UEFA Europa League clash vs. Viktoria Plzen. The player was taken off in just 56 minutes as he failed to make any significant impact, unlike his replacement Rasmus Hojlund, whose brace helped Ruben Amorim’s side secure a 1-2 win. “I mean, I saw him not fighting,” continued the Chelsea icon.

“I think he doesn’t want to stay; that’s for sure; we can feel it. I don’t know why but I think he gave up. But again, we still have the same question: who’s going to hire somebody with such a low spirit right now? It’s going to be hard for a club to put any money down that guy and pay a wage—a crazy wage for a player who’s not truthful right now.”
The United forward has experienced an improvement in form since Amorim took over as manager last month. He made an immediate impact by scoring just two minutes into the former Sporting CP coach’s debut match, although it only secured a 1-1 draw against Ipswich at Portman Road on November 24.
Though Rashford delivered a standout performance with a brace in United’s 4-0 victory over Everton on December 1, he was benched in the subsequent defeats to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest last week. “We have no consistency; it’s going to be hard. The player itself is so talented that you expect much more but it doesn’t produce and it’s been like that for a year,” concluded Frank, expressing concern over Marcus’ new side.

The potential options that Marcus Rashford amid Manchester United exit talk
It was just last year’s summer that the Red Devils’ talented academy prospect had penned to a £325,000-a-week contract. However, the forward is clearly failing to justify his wages and is continuously struggling to perform. While a move to another Premier League side is highly unlikely, reports have often linked the player with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

That, however, makes us wonder how exactly Rashford is going to fit in under Luis Enrique’s system. Then again, this has allegedly been the only big-name club that has been linked to sign the English forward. Rest are surely big admirers of Rashford, but it remains to be seen which of them would be willing to match Man United’s asking number.
