Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought Wrexham AFC with only one ambition, to take the Welsh side to the Premier League. For now, that dream is still incomplete, but their journey to reach the elite division has begun. But can they make it to England’s top division?

While the Red Dragons are desperate to achieve their goal, many have simultaneously expressed doubts over the chances of that happening. However, the Welsh club’s star player, Paul Mullin, is quite optimistic about the same, as the Welsh striker backed his owner’s dream.

Reynolds and McElhenney have been quite vocal about seeing Wrexham in the Premier League. Likewise, their star player, Mullin, also echoed their dreams of seeing the Red Dragons play in England’s top division. While speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, he said, “The sky’s the limit. Obviously, there’s been people laughing at Rob and Ryan doing interviews saying that they want the ultimate aim is to play in the Premier League.”

“But when they’ve had dreams as kids and gone and achieved them in their personal lives and their jobs why couldn’t they do it in a business aspect? Football’s a game where anything can happen.” While defending his owner’s dreams, the 28-year-old quoted the example of recently promoted Premier League side Luton Town.

He underlined their multiple promotions, stating they once played alongside them in the National League. Mullin further added that the backing of owners and support from not just Wrexham but around the world is “only gonna push the club on” and hand them a major boost. “The sky is really the limit they can achieve the Premier League but who knows how long, it could take five, ten, twenty years or it could take four. You just never know in this game.”
