Lazio manager opens up on Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s transfer

Italian side Lazio suffered a big setback this season as they had to part ways with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer. While the player has been linked to multiple sides over the years, Lazio somehow managed to keep a hold of their superstar. However, Al Hilal came in with a massive paycheck and signed the midfielder for $44,000,000.

Lazio’s new sporting director Angelo Fabiani has now touched down on the circumstances behind the transfer after taking hold of his new post. Fabiani mentioned that keeping hold of Milinkovic-Savic was taking a financial toll on the team.

Losing their club captain was a massive blow for the side. Al Hilal, on the other side, was pleased with the business after securing Milinkovic Savic for a great price. The player now partnered up with his new teammates will hope to help his side clinch the Saudi Pro League title, as Neymar is out yet again with an injury.

Neymar, following his move to Al Hilal, has already missed four games due to muscular issues. The player is yet to feature in a 90-minute game for the side, with his substitute against Al Riyadh being his only appearance for the side.

Al Hilal fans went into a frenzy as their side routed Al Riyadh in their last fixture. While the side managed to bag a 6-1 win, Neymar grabbed the limelight after making his debut for the side. Although the Brazilian did not manage to find a goal, he made sure to find two assists after being subbed in at the 64-minute mark.

Al Hilal, however, has been hit with a piece of rough news just days after Neymar’s debut as the player has taken a new bump. Neymar is currently training alongside the team’s technical coach rehabilitating from a bruised elbow. Fans will hope that the player quickly recovers from his injury and takes back to the field.
