Ryan Reynolds is a proud owner of the world’s third-oldest soccer club, Wrexham AFC. He bought the club on February 9, 2021, with Rob McElhenney. They became friends over direct messages on social media and invested $2.5 million in the Welsh club. It was a decision that made Blake Lively, Reynolds’ wife, unhappy earlier.

However, the American actress is now on good terms with the soccer investment of her husband. In August 2022, Reynolds shared that the stance of his wife has changed over time, and she now appreciates the club and the Welcome To Wrexham documentary series.

Ryan Reynolds revealed Blake Lively’s changed stance

Reynolds and McElhenney were on Entertainment Tonight for an interview in August 2022 before the launch of the Welcome To Wrexham documentary series. Reynolds revealed how, after the FA Trophy game in London at Wembley, Blake Lively shared her thoughts on Wrexham AFC.

Deadpool star said“We were laying in bed and she was like, ‘I get it.’ I was like, ‘What do you mean you get it?’ She was like, ‘I’m now as obsessed if not more than you are with this club and this community and this town, and everything it represents and where it can go,’ and so she’s as obsessed as I am.” “She’s already, like, looking at the schedules throughout the year, wondering which matches she can attend, so, it’s pretty great,” Reynolds added.

He was happy to see Blake finally getting into his investment, who once was disappointed. The couple was present with David Beckham and Will Ferrell at Wembley Stadium to watch Wrexham AFC taking on Bromley in the FA Trophy final. Wrexham did lose a game by 1-0, but the team’s performance and fans left Blake impressed.

The atmosphere at Wembley was electric, according to the Deadpool star, but the loss against Bromley disappointed him. However, the club did bounce back from last season’s disappointment with FA Trophy and getting knocked out of the semifinal playoff for promotion. They are on the right track to getting the automatic promotion spot this season.
