FC Barcelona has recently been the talk of the town. In recent years, they’ve faced multiple financial issues. That is also one of the main reasons why they couldn’t simply invite Messi back to the club. For him to return, the club would need to generate quite a lot of revenue and clear its wage payroll. To avoid any further delay and confusion, the Argentine’s decision surfaced on social media.

Instead of laying low, the La Liga giants decided to take on the matter. They released a public statement with the following lines. “President Laporta understood and respected Messi’s decision to want to compete in a league with fewer demands, further away from the spotlight and the pressure he has been subject to in recent years”.

Seemingly, this did not sit well with the fans. Let’s have a look at how they reacted to the same.

Many of the fans have criticized the major Spanish soccer club. Unimpressed by the statement, quite a few fans have deemed it as ‘completely unnecessary’. Honestly, the mood wasn’t quite pleasant in the comments section of that tweet.

This hasn’t been a great season for Beckham’s club. They’ve had quite a poor start after managing to accumulate only 15 points from 16 games. As per the regulations of the MLS, the World Cup winner will be eligible to make his debut after July 5. Messi possibly won’t make his debut till Inter Miami’s 23 game.

Considering the new playoff system in place, the Argentine will need to get going as soon as possible to give his team an outside chance at qualifying for the playoffs.
