However, in a 2021 interview, Shakira revealed a haircut of her as the “worst mistake of her life”. In 2012, Shakira was honored by the French Ministry Of Culture and she attended the event with her then-boyfriend, Gerard Pique. For the event, she rocked a shaggy bob cut with a lot of layers.

Shakira hated her haircut

In the interview, the Pop artist revealed that she hated how she looked in the pictures with the haircut. “Oh, how terrible! That’s a really bad haircut,” she said. What’s interesting is that it was her then-mother-in-law who suggested she cut her hair short as her hair looked damaged.

“I took advice from my mother-in-law,” she added. Shakira further added by sending a message to Montserrat. “I’m not taking cosmetic advice from you again!” the Latin artist said. It’s clear that ‘The Queen of Rhythm’ has always been confident in her own skin and she knows what works best for her.

Pique’s mother never liked Shakira’s relationship with her son

It has been almost eight months since Pique and Shakira called it quits. One person who is likely to feel relief after the breakup is Pique’s mother, Montserrat Bernabeu. It has been revealed that Bernabeu never liked Shakira and was against the relationship from the beginning.

There were many aspects of Shakira that Bernabeu didn’t approve of. One of the biggest issues was that the Colombian singer was not Catalan. Another issue for Bernabeu was the fact that Shakira is 10 years older than Pique. She felt that the Latin artist could easily manipulate her son and that the age difference was too significant.
