Real Madrid’s billion-dollar rebuild of their home is truly paying off. The Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will sell 85,000 tickets for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour on May 29 and 30. Since it will take more than 3 days to build the set for the concert, Real Madrid would probably switch their last league game to May 25– a day before the original date. Madrid’s home notably hosts Swift’s headline event a year before welcoming the NFL to Spanish soil. If Swift got there, could Shakira be far behind? Turns out, Shakira will perform more shows on Madrid’s turf than the Shake it Off singer!
Shakira has had a rough patch in the last couple of years. She faced a lengthy trial for alleged tax fraud. Besides, the Colombian singer came from a separation from her former partner and soccer legend Gerard Pique. However, the Hips Don’t Lie singer bounced back with her music. Now, Shakira plans to perform 4 concerts at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in 2025, as a part of her World Tour, as per El Mundo. It is said that the 47-year-old will announce the detailed schedule of her tour this month.
“I think my new tour will be the tour of my life. I’m very excited. I had my foot on the brake and now I’m on full throttle,” (translated by DeepL) Shakira said in an interview last year, referring to her upcoming tour. Anyhow, fans will have to wait till June 2025 to witness Shakira’s Madrid showdown. But for now, the 3x-Grammy winner will drop her new album titled Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran on March 22. Speaking of the upcoming album, the Columbian superstar doubled down on her redeeming artistic journey against all odds.

“My new album arrives this March 22nd,” Shakira announced on her social media handles. Continuing, she thanked all well-wishers who supported her in the journey of musical redemption. “The production of this work has been an alchemical process. In writing each song I rebuilt myself. By singing them, my tears were transformed into diamonds and my vulnerability into resilience,” Shakira added. In another interview, she confirmed that her upcoming tour, which includes a stop in Madrid, will be the most extensive and important tour of her career.
With Shakira confirming her tour, Real Madrid and their stadium add yet another impressive event to their portfolio. Apart from Shakira and Taylor Swift, artists such as Karol G, Manuel Carrasco, and Luis Miguel will perform at the Bernabeu this year. Besides, the rebuilt Spanish stadium will host an NFL regular season game in 2025.
