Darcourt, also in attendance as a nominee, recorded a video during Shakira’s speech. In the video, she pans the camera to reveal a screen in front of Shakira displaying the words of the speech. The Peruvian singer accompanied this with a sarcastic comment, stating, “Nice words from our Shaki, but they’re already set”.

The incident raises questions regarding the motives behind Darcourt’s actions. This can pretty much be seen in a bad light, but it remains uncertain what truly inspired Darcourt to expose Shakira. We will have to wait and see if the ‘Waka-Waka’ singer responds to this. This is highly unlikely given Shakira has her own problems regarding tax fraud to deal with.

Gerard Pique’s ex can face up to 8 years in jail

Shakira has found herself entangled in a significant tax fraud controversy, resulting in a staggering lawsuit of $15.9 million. The Spanish authorities have accused her of evading taxes for the years 2012 to 2014. They have alleged that she spent more than 183 days annually in Spain and thus had an obligation to pay taxes.

The singer has firmly refuted these allegations. She has consistently asserted that she was not residing in Spain during the period in question. While the prolonged legal proceedings continue, the trial is scheduled for November 20th. However, if convicted, she could not only face a hefty fine of $26 million but also serve up to 8 years behind bars.
