It’s publicly known that the Saudi soccer club’s next target was Sergio Busquets. The Barcelona veteran will ideally be looking for a change of club by the end of this season. According to ESPN, Al-Nassr is willing to offer the soccer veteran a very lucrative contract.

Al-Nassr now set to sign Sergio Busquets?

Sergio Busquets’ current contract with Barcelona expires this summer. Even though Busquets is a Barcelona legend, the La Liga giants will need to think twice before offering him a new deal. One of the main reasons is his age. The veteran is currently 34 years old, and clearly on the wrong side of his career. It’s still unclear whether the soccer veteran still has enough ‘gas’ left in his tank to compete in La Liga for a few more seasons.

However, Al-Nassr is apparently ready to make a lucrative bid. ESPN reports that the Saudi-based soccer club is willing to offer Sergio Busquets a net annual salary of €13 million.

Let’s have a look at how the fans reacted to this news.

Many fans are quite happy for Busquets, but not surprised. One fan poked fun at Al-Nassr by saying that they are trying to assemble ‘The Avengers’. The fans understand that Al-Nassr is trying to make an in-road into European soccer after signing Cristiano Ronaldo. Signing the Barcelona veteran would simply boost their chances of qualifying for the AFC Champions League.

According to reports, Al-Nassr is also keen on signing other well-known soccer s, like N’Golo Kante, Luka Modric, Eden Hazard, and Sergio Ramos.

Why did Cristiano Ronaldo move to Saudi Arabia?

The fans are still finding it very hard to believe that Ronaldo will not play in Europe anymore. The former Real Madrid star’s decision shocked the entire soccer fanbase. Many fans accused Ronaldo of going to Saudi Arabia ‘just for the money’. However, Ronaldo has confirmed that he moved to Saudi Arabia for better reasons.

In his first press conference as an Al-Nassr player, Ronaldo told the media, “There are many clubs who tried to sign me but I gave the word to this club for the opportunity. To develop not only the football but other part of this amazing country. For me it’s a good challenge. I know what I want and I know what I don’t want”.

He will then become Saudi Arabia’s ambassador in an effort to try and help them win the hosting rights for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
