Even a month feels like a year if Lionel Messi does not play. The superstar’s absence was causing distress amongst the team and the fans. Game after game, the crowd kept knocking about the Argentine’s return. The moment seems to have arrived. Or has it? Despite being speculated for injury for 15 days, Inter Miami’s skipper may play Saturday’s league match after being picked for the national side.

With MLS coming to its business end, Inter Miami’s chances have sunk more with their recent result. However, a miracle can save them, depending on other results. The last time Lionel Messi played was against Toronto FC in a comfortable win for the Florida-based team. Since then, he has been totally out of the team along with their left-back Jordi Alba. Even though there isn’t any update about Alba, Inter Miami’s assistant coach has recently confirmed Messi’s presence in the camp. Javi Morales said recently, “He trained full strength Thursday, will train fully with the team today, game-day decision.”

Morales has confirmed that Lionel Messi had trained at full strength on Thursday. Even though his injury was not considered very serious, he chose to keep away unnecessary physical stress. The initial fatigue news later escalated into an injury during the match against Toronto FC. The Inter Miami star withdrew in the 37th minute, after which coach Tata Martino expressed uncertainty about the progress.

The scar tissue of the past has kept the Argentine away from some main games that led to the team’s big streak of losses. However, Martino turned optimistic about the star’s improvement after the team’s loss to the Chicago Fire.
