Al Nassr skipper Cristiano Ronaldo has stirred the pot with his recent comments at the Globe Soccer Awards. While praising the Saudi Pro League, CR7 compared it to Ligue 1, claiming the Middle Eastern league was ‘more competitive‘ than the French one. Unsurprisingly, his statement did not sit down well with French fans who bashed the player for being too arrogant. However, the veteran has found a backup in the form of his ex-teammate Sadio Mane, who doubled down on CR7’s opinion during an interview.

Sadio Mane is not the only player who agrees with Ronaldo’s statement. Multiple players from the Roshn Saudi League have also expressed their opinion, claiming the Middle Eastern league is surely neck and neck with the French league.
