In a recent auction, myriad bidders swiftly outbid each other to secure memorabilia for a 6-figure amount!

A dinner party in Jeddah organized in the run-up to the Diriyah e-Prix has become relevant in soccer circles. An Al Nassr shirt- signed by Cristiano Ronaldo, was up for auction at that party. In a viral clip, the auctioneer could be seen gleefully shouting the prices which went up from $77,000 to $100,000 and then to $110,000. In the end, it was a Saudi-based businesswoman who outbid everyone for the CR7 shirt. She bid for $125,000 to win the coveted jersey. Along with the audience, even the auctioneer was stunned!

The auctioneer, in awe, remarked that the costliest jersey he ever sold at an auction was a Didier Drogba one worth $85,000. I never thought it would get more than that,” he said. Well, Cristiano Ronaldo’s effect at auctions is not a big surprise. The Portuguese superstar’s memorabilia have historically seen bidders flaunting their deep pockets. Back in 2021, Cristiano Ronaldo angrily threw away his captain’s armband after Portugal’s World Cup qualifiers match in Belgrade. It was later sold in a charity auction. An unidentified bidder bought the band for $75,000! Remember, unlike the Ronaldo-signed kit, this was an item the player threw away. Even so, it sold for a five-figure sum, which was later used for the treatment of a six-month-old boy who was suffering from spinal muscular atrophy.
