Two of the world’s biggest soccer stars are set to face off on the pitch once again. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi could potentially face off for the last time on Thursday, January 19th. And fans cannot contain their excitement with one businessman pouring millions just for a chance to see the stars in action.

Argentine striker Lionel Messi’s team Paris Saint-Germain will go up in a friendly match against an all-star team of players from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr and Al Hilal Clubs, captained by Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo. On top of that, this will be Ronaldo’s first appearance since joining Al-Nassr in December.

World’s most expensive ticket

For one Saudi Arabian businessman, the chance to see Messi and Ronaldo in action was worth a staggering $2.7 million. As per the Mirror, a Saudi Arabian real estate businessman, Musharraf bin Ahmed Al-Ghamdi paid this amount for a VIP ticket that was being auctioned off.

This is believed to be the most expensive ticket in the history of soccer. And while it’s an astronomical sum to pay for a seat at a sporting event, it’s understandable given the rare opportunity to witness two of the greatest athletes of all time potentially playing each other for the last time.

For die-hard fans of either player, the chance to see them in action is surely worth the price of admission. Additionally, the VIP ticket was being auctioned off for the fundraiser. And the $2.7 million raised will be donated to charity.
