Neymar has yet to reach the expectations of Al Hilal fans this season. The Brazilian maestro played two games but has not been able to open his account in the scorecard. On the same note, a former French soccer star took a jibe at Neymar and his move to Saudi, following his unimpressive debut with the Riyadh-based club.
The ex-Barca star secured a monumental deal with Al Hilal, accompanied by numerous additional privileges upon his arrival. Al Zaem spared no efforts in acquiring their marquee signing in the form of the Brazilian talisman. The former PSG Femenine defender discussed the drawback of Neymar’s contract and his incapability to perform at the highest level.

Neymar’s $402 million deal with Al Hilal is quite mouth-watering. The Brazilian was promised extravagant perks, including multiple cars, a private jet, and a 25-roomed mansion. However, one thing that Neymar would find different is the absence of extravagant nightlife and parties in Riyadh, compared to Europe. Laure Boulleaou, the former France women’s team international and PSG defender, thinks the same, as she jabbed at the fact that Neymar loves to party.
Talking on the set of Canal Football Club tv show, Bolleau remarked, “Neymar in Saudi Arabia? The nighttime activity won’t be as exciting! “.
The 11x Ligue 1 champions were willing to offload the Brazilian winger in the transfer window. It helped PSG to focus on their emerging talents and build a more dominant force in the league. Nevertheless, the $95 million price tag on Neymar after signing him for $235 million in 2017 took Boulleau aback. The Parisian legend also remarked, “Who thought PSG would sell him for 90 million euros? Person! I have the impression that it gives cash in terms of finances.”
Laure Boulleau, who played for France national team and PSG Feminine between 2003- 2018, is currently a member of the French soccer analysis show Canal Football Club. Discussing further about Neymar, she also expressed skepticism about his capabilities to thrive in this later stage of his career with Al Hilal.

Can the Brazilian star still perform at his best?
Neymar Jr. commenced the season with minimal impact with the Blue Waves. He entered the debut game as a substitute in the 64 minute against Al Riyadh. The Brazilian sensation only contributed with an assist to Malcom for the fourth goal in the game. Moreover, Neymar also failed to score in the Al Hilal AFC Champions League inaugural game. The referee issued him a yellow card for the unnecessary challenge against the Uzbekistan side, Navbahor.

Following such lackluster performances, Laure Boulleau remained unconvinced that Neymar could emulate the record-breaking success he was renowned for many years. She added in the interview, “If Neymar has the legs to play, at 31, in a big club? Honestly, I’m not sure.” Do you agree with the PSG legend’s take on Neymar? Comment below and let us know.
