Kylian Mbappe’s exit has left a huge hole in PSG’s sporting project. The club has lost their best goalscorer from not just last season but in their entire history. As Luis Enrique ponders over how to replace the prolific Frenchman, the club has been given a warning. A former Chelsea player believes that the way in which Mbappe and Lionel Messi’s exits have been handled is not a good look for the club. According to him, this could have huge ramifications for further big-name signings!

On the ESPN FC show, Frank Leboeuf gave his opinion on Kylian Mbappe’s unceremonious exit. The pundit said, “We never know what really been agreed between the two camps and it’s hard.” It’s sad to see how Messi left it’s sad to see how Mbappe left.” He also added that PSG’s deeds could cause ‘damages‘ in the future. Considering how Mbappe and Messi, two of the greatest players, have been treated, this could dissuade players from signing for PSG in the future.

Notably, Lionel Messi’s PSG stint practically came to an end after their UCL exit in 2023. The World Cup winner missed a practice session without permission for a sponsorship visit to Saudi Arabia. This angered club chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who gave La Pulga a two-week suspension. Messi’s camp was already hesitating over a new deal and this was the last straw for them.
