Jones announced, “Devastated to say I am no longer associated with @Wrexham_AFC. I have no further comment to make.”

The club has reached the hands of new owners and has been in great shape since. All of a sudden, Jones, known as ‘The Voice of the Racecourse’, announced his exit via Twitter, stating that he didn’t have anything more to say. This was especially devastating as Jones has been with Wrexham for quite a few decades and has been part of their highs and lows. Jones also had family connections with the club as well as the role, as he had inherited it from his father.

This obviously did not go well with the fans, who replied with support for the veteran. Few people expressed their sadness, wishing Jones the best ahead.

The creators of the RobRyanRed podcast also their gratitude for Jones’ service and wished him the best in the future.

This fan’s reaction was so emotional that she was shattered to see him leave. She also took the courtesy to enquire if everything was ok.

Some even took a dig at owners Reynolds and McElhenney, claiming that they aren’t making any efforts to stop him.

Fans even took a jibe at the management for not showing respect. The one below also called out the club’s claims of it being a “community club”

While the club is doing great on the pitch, it has also received a boost regarding the acquisition of the Racecourse Ground Cae Ras.

Jones will not see the makeover of Racecourse Stadium

It was recently announced that the trust was supportive of replacing the lease with a new binding covenant. With this, the club will keep the stadium until June 2115. This will also allow the club to pursue the renovation of the rare Kop stand, which was promised by Reynolds earlier this year.

However, Steve Jones won’t be able to witness any of these clubs’ evolutions. The club is expected to hear the veto of the trustees on December 4. The resolution should be approved by at least 75% of the voters, which will then make the new covenant bond ready to be implemented.
