The EFL League One starts on August 10th. As per Phil Parkinson, a squad revamp is crucial to competing well in the higher division. Also, it was recently that Wrexham AFC released 8 players from the squad. Hence, incomings are the priority for Ryan Reynolds’ side and it seems they have set their sights on a Premier League midfielder. But as always, they face cut-throat competition as several Championship sides are also in the frame.

As per reports, Brighton midfielder Marc Leonard has caught the attention of those at STōK Cae Ras. The 22-year-old is currently plying his trade for League One side Northampton Town. His season has been impressive as he racked up 5 goals and 6 assists last season. He also picked up the Player of the Season award at Northampton Town. His loan expires in June and he will return to Amex Stadium where he faces an uncertain future.

Since making his professional debut for Brighton in 2021, the midfielder has made just 2 appearances in total! Despite his good form, he is well down the pecking order at the Premier League side. Also, he is in the final year of his contract. Hence, there is a belief that an offer of over $320k could convince Brighton to part ways. As a result, Championship clubs like Hull City, Preston, and Plymouth are quite attentive to the situation.

It remains to be seen if a move to Wrexham appeals to the Brighton man. After all, he has suitors from the Championship which is a higher level compared to League One. But, fret not Wrexham fans as the Red Dragons have alternatives lined up.
