Wrexham AFC, co-owned by Ryan Reynolds, has been in dominant form this season. Currently, they sit atop the table in the Vanarama National League. The league leaders automatically qualify for Football League Two at the end of the season. But apart from these, the third oldest club in the world is leading in a unique stat in the English soccer pyramid, leaving behind the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.

Club’s co-owner Rob McElhenney has praised the club for this achievement. He also praised their championship rivals in the Vanarama National League, Notts County, who also made the list of a unique stat and are third behind Wrexham and Arsenal.

Wrexham AFC leads in a unique stat in English soccer

English soccer pyramid is vast and divided across various tiers. Wrexham is a non-league soccer club and is eyeing a promotion to league soccer by making it to League Two, the fourth division of the pyramid. Recently, a soccer stat platform shared a unique stat for the top five tiers of English soccer, and Wrexham AFC leads that stat.

Soccer stats platform, Playmaker shared points-per-game stat for the clubs in the top five tiers for the ongoing season. The club, co-owned by Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, is currently top of the list with 2.47 points per game. Top division clubs Arsenal (second with 2.38 points per game) and Manchester City (sixth with 2.22 points per game) make it to the list. Notts Couty, the league rivals of Wrexham, is in third with 2.37 point-per-game.

Rob McElhenney took to Twitter and wrote“Not sure who those other clubs are, but Wrexham AFC and Notts County loo pretty good this season.” It was a slight dig at other top dig clubs in the list. The owners are happy with the way the club is performing and showing their support to the club every matchday. They take to social media to pump the players and fans and are eager for the promotion of the club to league soccer in their second complete season as the owners.
