In 2021 Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney joined hands to embark on a new journey. The star duo acquired the Welsh soccer club Wrexham AFC. When they took over the club, it was struggling to say the least. It was running on Supporters Fund and had just concluded its last season at the 19th place in National League.

Right now Wrexham is at the top of the league and is speed-running promotion. Wrexham’s new owners have turned the club into a goliath of their league. The Deadpool actor and the creator of ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ came to Wrexham with a promise; a promise to take Wrexham to new heights.

As soon as the stars got ownership of the club, they set out to make one of the best documentary series in soccer’s history. ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ shows bits of the story from Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney talking about buying the club to matches and signing of stars like Paul Mullin. Today’s story came from a scene in the documentary itself.

McElhenney took a jibe at Ryan Reynolds

In an episode of the documentary series, Rob McElhenney took some very hilarious shots at his partner Ryan Reynolds. Previously on the episode, Reynolds went to Wales and met fans without Rob McElhenney. As it was just a humorous segment, McElhenney didn’t miss his chance to roast the Deadpool actor.

Rob McElhenney said, “I’ve got opinions, I don’t know if you picked up on this but just a few moments ago in the episode, Kevin our head physio referred to Ryan’s visit as a fu**ing disgrace. Kevin, I agree with you.”

“It’s not because I don’t appreciate what Ryan is doing. It is a very important part of the project, he is growing the exposure of the club. None of those reasons are the reasons why I think it is a disgrace. I think it’s a fu**ing disgrace because, he went without me.

McElhenney and Reynolds are some of the wittiest personalities in Hollywood. This humorous side is very apparent in the tone of this series. They are currently busy filming the second season of the series.

Reynolds and McElhenney congratulated Wrexham AFC Women

Yesterday, with their 11th win out of 11 matches, Wrexham Women’s team cemented their chances of winning the league title. The league toppers had gained an undefeatable lead and will raise the trophy in their last match of the season in front of the home crowd. Both stars congratulated the team on social platforms.
