Ryan Reynolds is going to great lengths to make Wrexham, a small Welsh town known for its third-oldest soccer club in the world a global brand. In 2020, Reynolds acquired Wrexham AFC with co-owner Rob McElhenney, and since then the team has seen unprecedented success.

Since then, the soccer club has seen fame more than ever. The club is also doing very well on the field. It is currently sitting on top of the points table in the fifth tier of English football, having surpassed 100 points with just three more games to go, and looks forward to a swift promotion to the fourth division.
Interestingly, Ryan Reynolds has also taken a few more steps to make sure Wrexham AFC becomes a global name. He has recently gone ahead and trademarked the name in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
Ryan Reynolds makes a major move to globalize Wrexham AFC
The Sun reported that the A-lister has successfully registered ‘Wrexham FC 1864′ and ‘Wrexham FC’ in the UK, as well as ‘Wrexham Is The Name’ and ‘Wrexham FC 1864’ in the US. The Deadpool star has even applied for ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ to be trademarked with the US patent office.

Since acquiring the rights to these names associated with Wrexham FC, the club can now produce and sell goods under its name. Clothes, sportswear, toys, luggage, games, and entertainment are things that can be expected as they have acquired the trademarks to market goods in five different classes, with his holding company, R.R. McReynolds Company LLC.
This is a large win for ‘The Red Dragons’, as it has never before had the opportunity to reach such a wide market. With the trademarks, the club can now move towards marketing itself globally, expanding consumer reach and interest in the club. It is clear that Ryan Reynolds is taking this Welsh soccer club to great heights. Now it is also time for the soccer team to do the same on the pitch.

Wrexham AFC is vying for promotion to the fourth division. The soccer club has been in pursuit of this goal for almost 15 years. With their 3-2 win against title rivals Notts County, Wrexham is now one step closer to making history. However, recently they faced a goalless draw in their match against Barnet. This is unquestionably a significant setback for the team in a title battle with Notts County, as we had to toward the end of the season.
