Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds is not short of activity. When he is not filming some crazy stunts, the actor is an astute entrepreneur. Reynolds, along with fellow actor and friend Rob McElhenney, purchased Wrexham AFC and turned the club’s fortunes around. The actor also co-owns American Aviation Gin, an alcoholic brand. But now, Reynolds appeared in a commercial promoting his alcoholic brand.
However, McElhenney did not accompany; instead, musician Rob Thomas appeared with the actor. When quizzed about the absence of his friend, Ryan gave a sneaky answer. The Deadpool actor never fails to amaze with his quirky acts of entertainment.

Rob Thomas is the lead singer of ‘Matchbox Twenty’, a prominent rock band. Hence, fans were surprised to see Reynolds team up with this ‘new’ Rob instead of McElhenney. Ryan and Rob advertised the gin in the latest marketing campaign. The Deadpool man gave clarity on the situation in the hilarious video.
He said, “Well, you know, Wrexham have grown used to seeing me and the other Rob together but he’s not legally allowed to be in Aviation Gin commercials, so..” A fairly straightforward response from the Hollywood star. However, this response has left fans with more questions than answers.
While Reynolds and McElhenney are partners in soccer, they compete against each other in the alcohol business market. McElhenney is the co-owner of Four Walls, an American-based Whiskey brand. It does bring legal implications and clauses to the table involving commercials and promotions.

Therefore, it is improbable that McElhenney will be featured in an American Aviation Gin Ad anytime soon. Nevertheless, they continue to be resolute in their efforts to elevate the club’s standing.
Can the owners achieve the ‘Premier League’ dream?
During a Q&A event, CEO Fleur Robinson said, “The club has seen turnover rise from £2.5m to £20m and as part of their mission statement they made it clear they wanted to develop the stadium, increase crowds, and make a difference in the community. They are also aiming for the Premier League.”

Interestingly, Wrexham also managed to defeat the Red Devils. While there is no assurance that Wrexham will play in the English top flight, their fans have a lot to be excited about.
