Besides this, the fifth division continues to play top-notch soccer and occupies the top spot in the league. Not only the club, but the players are also earning quite a name for themselves. With the help of collective effort, the club is leading towards glory.

And it seems that just like the club, the players are also on the brink of achieving a historic milestone. Wrexham’s star player, Paul Mullin, is getting all the accolades for his brilliant displays and is on track to set a monumental record.

Paul Mullin set to achieve a historic feat

Paul Mullin has been the leading man at Wrexham this season. The player arrived at the Racecourse Ground back in the summer of 2021, and since then, he has been firing goals for the Red Dragons.

Even almost after a season, the striker continues to smash records for his domestic side. So far, the Welsh strike has netted 43 goals. However, it seems the player is close to breaking another record of Wrexham’s former club legend, Tommy Bamford.

In the list of all-time scores for Wrexham, Bamford’s name appears three times, thus scoring 40, 45, and 51 goals between the years 1932 and 1934. On the list is Gary Bennett, who scored 47 goals during the 1994-95 season, thus breaking two records of Bamford.

Mullin has already surpassed the 40-goal mark after he recently bagged a hat trick against Oldham Athletic. However, it seems the striker has a chance to break yet another record for Bamford, as he is close to the 45-goal mark.

The striker is just two goals short of breaking the second record of the club legend. With just six games left, he can surely achieve that number and break the 89-year-old record. Who knows, he may even smash Bennett’s record of 47.

Indeed, Mullin has been clinical for Ryan Reynolds’ side, who is thrilled with his star player’s performance. The striker will be keen to help his side clinch silverware and achieve promotion. The club is currently sitting at the top spot after reaching the 100-point mark. However, they are in tough competition with their archrivals, Notts County, who are just three points behind them.
