The media have linked a host of players with the Red Dragons. Moreover, another player comes under their radar. This time, it’s former Manchester United sniper Nick Powell. The versatile player, who can play both as a midfielder and a striker, is currently playing for Championship side Stoke City.

A few clubs have been linked with the attacker, with Wrexham being one of them. As per transfermarkt, Powell’s current market value is estimated to be $980,000. However, with his contract set to expire on June 30, 2023, he is available as a free agent. Hence, this calls grabs up for Wrexham, who can partner him with Paul Mullin.

Manchester United signed Powell for $6 million in 2012 from Crewe Alexandra. After winning the Premier League and the Community Shield, he went on many loan spells. The 29-year-old has played for the likes of Wigan Athletic, Hull City, and Leicester City. The Red Devils eventually released him in 2016.

He even made a Champions League appearance after coming off the bench to replace Juan Mata in a group-stage game against Wolfsburg. He has also won three PL titles with United’s U-21 team and a third-tier title with Wigan. Indeed, he truly has a lot on his resume, as Reynolds would be keen on such a player. As for Phil Parkinson, he is also ready to wait for major signings.

As stated by The Leader, Parkinson disclosed that they have engaged in conversations with numerous players and clubs. However, he is ready to wait on the new signings and is in no rush. “To get better players than the ones we have already got is really tough. We are best off waiting for the players we really want, knowing that the squad is strong as it stands.”

Additionally, Parkinson acknowledged the proficiency of the existing team. He added, “If two or three players become available which we want and which we feel will really improve the squad, then, of course, we will go all out to get them. We have targeted the ones we want and we are in discussions with those clubs, but at this time of the year, things take time for many different reasons.” It seems the 55-year-old understands that patience is the key to making new signings. It remains to be seen how they manage to pull off their transfer targets.
