Wrexham AFC’s standing in the soccer world continues to grow. In just a couple of years, the Red Dragons have jumped from Non-League to League One. As such, interest in the Welsh club has heightened significantly and people are flocking to the matches. Consequently, the STōK Cae Ras is seeing renovation works that will see the capacity jump from 12000 to 16000. But, according to owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the end goal is to quadruple the capacity!

On the ‘Fearless in Devotion’ podcast, the Hollywood duo revealed their plans for the iconic Racecourse ground. McElhenney said, “We have a plan in place right now that we would eventually work from stand to stand, so eventually all 4 sides. It’s hard to say for sure, but we think we can get between 45 and 55 thousand people in there.” But, is there any motive behind this hardcore expansion? Reynolds clarified the same.

The Deadpool star said, “The whole town can come up to the game.” This was a long-term vision of the Hollywood duo. The owners have focused on not just the growth of the soccer club, but the welfare of the Wrexham community. In fact, the club’s sponsorship with Vista Print had a clause to help local businesses in the region.
