Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are the leaders who have rewritten the legacy of Wrexham. Their vision has resulted in the Red Dragons achieving a historic back-to-back promotion for the first time in their history. A key reason behind the success is how the Hollywood duo bonds with players on the pitch. The biggest example is the story of James Jones. The Scottish midfielder had just come out of a grave personal incident involving his son Jude. How Reynolds and McElhenney responded to the same deserves the highest of praise.
It has come to light that Reynolds and McElhenney have made a sizeable contribution to the fund-raiser set up by James Jones. The exact amount stands at $12695 and the sum will be deposited to the Bolton NHS charity. The fundraiser was set up by the Wrexham midfielder and partner Chloe as a token of gratitude to the Bolton NICU. This came after the couple faced complications in Jude’s birth.
Jude is doing fine now but it wasn’t always the case. The toddler had a case of premature childbirth having been born 15 weeks earlier than expected. Typically, early childbirths lead to higher health complications and risks. Fortunately, the doctors and consultants did a great job of saving Jude from this life-endangering situation. Chloe expressed her gratitude and said, “The work they do is amazing. There really are no words for how much it means to us, Jude is our whole world.”

In addition to providing financial support, Rob McElhenney went the full distance to help his Wrexham star. In fact, Spoon, the charity that he advocates, played a pivotal role in the whole operation.

McElhenney shared the footage via X and gave the caption, “Wrexham is family ❤️.” Moreover, he requested that users who wanted to learn more about Neonatal family support visit the Spoons website. ‘Spoons’ is a Bolton-based family-support-oriented charity that aims to offer emotional and practical support, counseling sessions, and more to those in need. Similarly last year, star striker Paul Mullin announced that he would be a part of the Wrexham-based charity ‘Your Space.’ Your Space aims to support people with Autism and Paul Mullin’s son was diagnosed with the same. Ryan Reynolds applauded the efforts of his striker and even encouraged supporters to contribute via Instagram. Such deeds prove that the Hollywood owners really mean it when saying that Wrexham is a family.
