His snub despite Wales star forward Brenan Johnson comes as a shock. Despite the injury, Johnson is on Wales’s roster for the upcoming qualifiers. Wrexham AFC forward in contention for Wales selection
The Wales national team last selected a non-league soccer player in 2008. Wrexham’s Steve Evans was on Wales’s roster in 2008 and played against Russia. Now, Mullin can break the 15-year drought as he is in contention for the Wales international camp in May this year.
Wales manager Page is a fan of the forward and has praised the striker for his goal-scoring exploits, especially in FA Cup against top sides like Coventry City and Sheffield United. Wales will hold an extended camp in May for non-Premier League players. It comes ahead of the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Armenia and Turkey in June.
They will potentially select Mullin, who is eligible to play for Wales, for the camp. The 28-year-old is in great form this season, and reports suggest his word his age won’t be a barrier in his selection. Mullin has no international experience and hasn’t played any soccer in the top two divisions of the English soccer pyramid.
It will be interesting to see whether Mullin makes it to the May camp or not. His goal-scoring for the last three seasons can’t be ignored.
