Despite Lionel Messi scoring one and creating another in Argentina’s win over Croatia, Morgan doesn’t rank him in his top 3.

As of today, Argentina has made it through to the World Cup Final. It was just another master class from Messi. The former Barcelona veteran has been pivotal in his country’s success over the years.

While the lifelong debate of whose better, Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi still goes on, Piers Morgan has openly shared his views on Twitter. Post the Argentina game with Messi’s heroics, Morgan was tagged and asked a question on the platform.
The tweet said, “So where are we now @piersmorgan in the Ronaldo v Messi debate?” to which Morgan replied, “I think Cristiano Ronaldo’s the best ever, Maradona 2nd, Messi 3rd (possibly 4th actually, behind R9)”.

However, this was not the only tweet. Soon after Argentina’s win, Former England Soccer player Gary Lineker also posted a tweet that quoted, “Is there still a debate? Asking for a goat”. This tweet wasn’t directly addressed to Morgan. However, he felt the need to put his views forward. He replied, “There isn’t. It’s Ronaldo”.

British TV personality, Piers Morgan, has been a name in the news for over a month now. This entire saga began after Ronaldo’s interview was made public on ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ which is Morgan’s talk show. It was after that interview that Manchester United terminated Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with immediate effect, causing serious waves in the soccer world.

The FIFA World Cup has never failed to impress. This year’s edition too has been full of ups and downs since the start. Despite major upsets like Germany not making it out from the group stage again, and Portugal’s shocking elimination after losing to Morocco, there have been a few bright moments. Morocco’s dream run to the semi-final while knocking out Spain and Portugal to get there.
A shocking defeat to Morocco sent Portugal and Ronaldo crashing home, while Lionel Messi is on course for the World Cup final. With both the veterans having achieved so much in the game, the Messi vs. Ronaldo debate just doesn’t seem to end.
