If there’s one question that seems to have no answer is the GOAT debate. The most demanding question of the beautiful game continues to spark fervent discussions. As fans rally to settle the ultimate controversy, Portugal star Joao Felix has a different opinion. When asked to choose between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Felix rather wants everyone to ‘enjoy both of them‘.

The on-loan Barcelona forward, who recently returned to his parent club Atletico Madrid, keeps both undisputable icons at the same level. Speaking on a lengthy podcast interview with Nude Project, Felix said, “I do not like to answer this question. Cristiano is a role model for all Portuguese. Messi is a wonderful player. They are both wonderful and I must enjoy both of them as much as possible because their era is approaching the end, and we must enjoy them,” he said.

Given Felix shares a locker room with Ronaldo while playing for Os Navegadores and would certainly like to continue again at Camp Nou next season, where Messi is worshipped, one may suggest that the forward wouldn’t like to spoil his ties with either side. “I will not choose one of them because Cristiano’s fans will be angry with me if I choose Messi, and if I choose Ronaldo, then the Messi fans will be angry with me,” he concluded.

Felix is rather pleased to be the peacemaker between the two most passionate fanbases. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time he remained neutral; weeks ago, during an interview with Gerard Romero, the former Benfica man again insisted how ‘difficult‘ it is to choose between the two, who did ‘wonderful‘ things that are inimitable. But as a matter of fact, he may have subtly made a pick!

Joao Felix once gave a cold shoulder to Cristiano Ronaldo over Lionel Messi for one specific quality!

Last year, Joao Felix was asked to rate the best free-kick taker. Without hesitation, the former Chelsea flop singled out Lionel Messi. Interestingly, this occurred shortly before he was due to train alongside Cristiano Ronaldo for the Euro qualifiers. While the Al Nassr skipper harbored no resentment, the 24-year-old again snubbed his national teammate in another instance!

Earlier, Felix was tasked with assembling his dream squad. Once again, Ronaldo was omitted as Felix passionately listed Lionel Messi, Al Hilal standout Neymar Jr., Manchester City and Os Navegadores midfielder Bernardo Silva, and himself. This could imply a subtle preference for La Pulga over CR7. However, recent remarks from Felix might provide a new perspective.
