Ever since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the small North Welsh club, the who’s who of Hollywood have been spotted at STōK Cae Ras. After Wrexham’s recent 2-2 draw with Cambridge United, Rob McElhenney took a moment to apologize to two special guests in attendance, one of whom happens to be a close friend of ‘Deadpool’ himself.

‘Deadpool’ co-star Channing Tatum and Green Day legend, Billie Joe Armstrong made it to Wales to watch the Red Dragons, who couldn’t take all 3 points at home. The draw sees Wrexham sit 3rd on the League One table, just 2 points behind Wycombe Wanderers and Birmingham, both of which have games in hand.

The result prompted Rob McElhenney to tweet on X (formerly known as Twitter) apologizing to his star guests, while also remaining hopeful that the club would soon regain its momentum. “Sorry for the result @channingtatum and @billiejoe But we always get up and go again. On to Saturday! Up the town! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 ⚽️” said the ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ star.

Their plans for building a new training facility for the club’s youth team at Daland High School in Rosset have been met with angry reactions from locals who believe it brings no benefit to the community. As per ‘The Daily Mail’ the club plans on building the training facilities on ‘green wedge’ which has been met with 9 letters of objection to the Wrexham Council.

With their promotion hopes, European dreams, and future plans all facing setbacks, it will be interesting to see how the Hollywood owners navigate past these problems. Given all they’ve done for the club so far, they are more than likely to find a solution, after all, one of the owners is literally Deadpool.
