Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were delighted with how Wrexham fared this season. For the first time in its storied history, the Red Dragons achieved consecutive promotions. As a result, the owners spared no expense and funded an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas. Notably, Vegas seems to be a favorite among the players, since it was the holiday destination after their League Two promotion in 2023. But, will the Welsh Club return to the city for the third time if they manage an unprecedented back-to-back-to-back promotion? Well, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are in disagreement over the matter.

Footage has emerged of McElhenney giving his thoughts on a 3rd trip to Vegas. The actor said, “I’ve just got back from Las Vegas when we did it for the second time. If they get promoted again, we promise them they will be sent to Vegas again.” McElhenney revealed that Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds is not in favor of another US trip. He added, “If you see Ryan, he’s gonna say no and I’m gonna say yes.”

A trip to Las Vegas could serve as a great motivating factor for the side. After all League One is poised to be a much sterner test compared to League Two. But, Vegas is one of the most expensive cities in the world and this could have influenced Reynolds’ thinking. On the contrary, visiting the US even on vacation could significantly help to develop Wrexham’s already sizeable fanbase in the country.

Nevertheless, Las Vegas becomes a factor only if the side gets promoted. What if Wrexham does not manage to do so? A prominent figure of voice for League One side Peterborough United doesn’t believe the Red Dragons will make it to the championship.

Wrexham was given no chance of getting promoted to the Championship!

A promotion from League One will take Wrexham to the Championship, the second-highest division in English soccer. However, the wife of Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony believes that there is no scope for promotion. But, her husband does not agree on the matter. He said, “I said to my wife when this started that they’ll be in the Championship in four years’ time and she said, ‘never going to happen.'”

The reason behind MacAnthony’s prediction is because of how the ownership of Wrexham manages to arrange funds for signings. Transfers and recruitment have been a strong point of the club, and even this season, the Red Dragons are eyeing a cheeky deal for Jamie Vardy. Unlike League Two, the League Only only promotes the top 2 teams to the Championship. Hence, a promotion this season will surely be harder than last time around.
