It has been reported that Shakira will be leaving Barcelona to live in Miami, Florida with her two kids, Sasha and Milan. According to reports Shakira with her kids will be living in a mansion on Miami Beach. The 46-year-old could move on April 1, 2023. This is the time when her kids will be on break and will be easier to switch schools.

As formulated in a legal agreement, Shakira and Gerard Piqué have determined that the Catalan soccer player should have regular access to his children. This has been identified as an equal custody arrangement for their two children – Milán, 11, and Sasha, 9. This agreement allows the former soccer player to visit his children in Miami frequently per the terms of their arrangement.

This decision has not come lightly for Shakira as well. She has been back and forth with the idea of leaving ever since her split with Pique. The main reason was her father being taken to emergency.

Shakira’s father’s health conditions postponed her relocation plans

Shakira had made up her mind on moving from Barcelona for a long time. However, what stopped her was the health condition of her 91-year-old father. It was reported that Shakira’s father, William Mebarak, had to be hospitalized in Spain in February after suffering major head trauma due to a fall.

The situation was quite serious, and he had to undergo surgery. However, Shakira, being a loving daughter, couldn’t leave her father and postponed the plans of moving to Miami. The health of her father has been a priority for the ‘Waka-Waka’ singer.
