The journey of Wrexham AFC is nothing less than a fairy tale for fans. The Hollywood owners have put immense effort into regaining the Welsh club’s lost glory. Not to forget, Wrexham displayed a splendid performance on their US tour and clashed against top soccer clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea. Interestingly, Wrexham’s final game of their US tour took four hours to finish amid extreme weather in Philadelphia.

Rob McElhenney was seen on Instagram sending updates to partner Ryan Reynolds throughout the game. Unfortunately, the match ended up in a draw (1-1); however, Rob showed a lot of excitement for the Welsh club’s last US tour match.

The Hollywood owner also flourished compliments after viewing rivals, Philadelphia Union II, and their impressive performance. In addition, McElhenney also wished them good luck for the rest of their campaign.

Wrexham brought the curtain down on their US Tour against Philadelphia Union II. Indeed, several fans were present to support the Welsh club; however, the weather had different plans. The game started in extreme heat and humidity; later, it was delayed for over two hours at half-time as a thunderstorm rolled in.

Interestingly, after the second half, the Red Dragons changed their entire 11 for the restart. Players had to face several challenges due to terrible weather but, both clubs’ performances in such extreme conditions gained the spectators’ respect for the players. The game finished 1-1, thanks to goals from Tom O’Connor for Wrexham and Jeremy Rafanello for the American side.

Despite no victory, both clubs’ players showed great sportsmanship and left fans awe-struck with their performance. Furthermore, the Welsh club owner, Rob McElhenney, also complimented rivals for such sportsmanship and revealed to be their biggest fan after the match ended.

He added, ” For 90 min (+) we were adversaries. But I wake up today returning as your biggest fan! Good luck with the rest of the season!” Apart from that, McElhenney also mentions fans’ immense support and Wrexham chants all around the stadium during the four-hour-long game.

Regardless, Wrexham has finally finished off their preseason tour of the United States. Moreover, the Red Dragons displayed splendid performance throughout the US tour. As defeating Manchester United and LA Galaxy isn’t an effortless task for any team. Therefore, fans can again expect splendid results from the Welsh club for the next campaign as well.
