The striker changed his Instagram profile picture to his daughter as condolences poured in for the grieving soccer player. Fans reacted to Twitter on this horrible news as they paid their respects. Moreover, the club’s official Twitter handle also showed their support by changing their profile picture to black.

Nantes soccer club paid their respects to Ganago by posting a heartwarming post on Twitter. According to Daily Mail, the club stated, “FC Nantes is in mourning. It is with deep sadness that the Football Club of Nantes has learned of the death of our striker’s daughter, Ignatius Ganago. We think a lot of you Gana. The Club is with you through this terrible ordeal.”
Significantly, the French side turned their display picture black as a sign of mourning. Likewise, Nantes’ next opponent, Juventus, also showed their respects with a prayer emoticon. Other clubs like Lyon and the French Football Federation shared their condolences for the player. In fact, the untimely death came when Ganago was going to turn 24 during their next match against their Europa League opponents. It became an emotional day for everyone involved.

Ganago is one of Nantes’ key players. He made 21 appearances for the Ligue 1 side placed in 13th position. In those number of appearances, he scored three goals and created three assists proving to be an effective attacking outlet for the team. He is aerially dominant and has a good physical presence up front. However, he narrowly missed out on the Qatar World Cup after failing to make the Cameroon squad.
