Soccer world joins Ian Wright and Arsenal in mourning the tragic loss of Kevin Campbell

It has been reported that Kevin Campbell has been struggling with a serious illness for quite some time. Earlier this month, his condition deteriorated significantly, necessitating hospitalization. Today, Campbell’s management confirmed his passing with the following statement: “Wow this one really hurts. Rest easy KC a true friend and gentleman. Thoughts with Kevs 2 boys and the rest of his family.” 

The soccer community has been profoundly impacted by this news. Arsenal Football Club, where the late star spent a significant portion of his career, expressed their condolences on social media platform X: “We are devastated to learn that our former striker Kevin Campbell has died after a short illness. Kevin was adored by everyone at the club. All of us are thinking of his friends and family at this difficult time. Rest in peace, Kevin.” 

Additionally, Ian Wright, one of Campbell’s teammates at Arsenal, paid tribute by sharing four memorable photographs of their time together.

Mark Crossley, another one of Kevin Campbell’s previous colleagues, expressed his grief on social media over the tragic news. In his post, he stated: “Life can be so cruel at times Absolutely devastated with news of my ex forest teammate Kevin Campbell’s passing, a true gentleman, a great player, a shining light of a dressing room, fun loving guy, thoughts are with all his family and friends. RIP mate”

Former Arsenal player Alan Smith also shared his thoughts on how the entire Gunners team is deeply saddened by Campbell’s passing.

Many supporters have also conveyed their sorrow, with one fan expressing being ‘absolutely gutted’ by the news.
