The Reds Dragons fan group lost a close member as twenty-year-old Bailey Jones passed away last night. Apart from being a solid Wrexham fan, Jones was also well-known around the Darts circuit, where he recently took part in two major leagues. The Red Dragons have a close-knit fan group that has supported the club through thick and thin.
‘Welcome to Wrexham’ brought to light untold stories of the supporting cast of Wrexham. So much so, that a few fans are now globally recognized as key members of the club’s fan group. One such superfan, who rose to popularity through the documentary, took to her X (Twitter) handle to mourn the loss of her close friend and a fellow Wrexham supporter.
Superfan Millie Tipping mourns the loss of her ‘football’ friend

Millie Tipping, who has autism, has emerged as one of the most recognizable fans of Wrexham in the Welsh town. Tipping, 17, shares a strong bond with striker Paul Mullin’s son, Albi. The young fan had made Albi a canvas collage when she found out he too had autism. Mullin has also become a patron of the Llay-based autism charity, YourSpace.
Tipping took to her X account two days ago, as she shared an emotional message after the passing of Wrexham supporter and her dear friend, Bailey Jones.
Jones, who was just 20 years old, passed away due to unknown reasons. Tipping, paying a tribute to her friend wrote, “My friend, my football friend!💔🕊️ gonna miss you B! Love you lots! 💔”

The people around the club have risen in popularity in the recent months following the release of the club’s docuseries starring Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Jones’ acquaintances and close friends took to social media to offer their condolences to one of their own. One fan shared a childhood photo of Bailey alongside his dad cheering for Wrexham.

Another fan shared how he’d often spot Bailey lining up for tickets at Wrexham’s games.
Really awful news … Bailey was always someone I spotted at away games or when queuing for tickets. Spotted him in background recently in doc when a D&R fan was being interviewed – a Top Red; rest in peace 😢

Another fan added that Jones was his close friend, and it was hard to see him go at such a young age.

Interestingly, Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ has a slight role to play in the unity of the fanbase. Fans around the world have started to relate with the people residing in the Welsh city and their desire to see their favorite soccer team do well.
‘Welcome to Wrexham’ has shown fans a newer perspective around the club, after the side failed to clinch promotion in their first attempt following the takeover. Simply gauging by their social media traction, the Welsh soccer club seems to have quite a few loyal fans who will remain with the club for years.
