Following Wrexham AFC’s match against Crewe Alexandra in League Two, Paul Mullin took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to post some pictures from the game. Mullin wrote in the caption, They where for my Grandie (heart emoji).”, revealing the sad loss of his grandfather. Soon, thousands of Wrexham supporters and fans shared their condolences and showed their support to Mullin. 

One fan replied to Mullin’s post showing his respect as he wrote, “All my condolences to you and your family, Paul. What a tribute to him. May he Rest in Peace.”

Another fan commented, “Sorry for your loss Paul.”

Many shared their sympathies as one wrote, “Memories Paul can’t be taken away… never forget that.”

Paul Mullin knew that something magical would happen. The statement he made gets more clear in his post-match tribute to his grandfather. Speaking to the media after the game, the Wrexham striker said, “It was a difficult weekend for me, really, my grandad got rushed into the hospital and things like that, and passed away earlier in the week.”

Mullin further added, “So, it’s been a difficult week but, obviously, today, that’s when I said, I knew I was going to score all week once he’d gone. He was my biggest fan. So, I always knew coming into the game today that somehow, he’d make some magic happen and we got two over them.”

Emotional turmoils don’t wear off quickly from the mind. But Mullin’s focus will be on making his granddad proud and he is sure to continue at his best following this attitude. However, next on the road for Wrexham is Mansfield on 4th October.
