Kylian Mbappe never left any stone unturned in proving why he deserves to be at the top of the heap. Throughout the years, the Frenchman has tread the path of an upward trajectory in his remarkable career. Now, as he is expected to share a locker room with Real Madrid star Casemiro, Mbappe receives high praise from the Brazilian, who sees him as a chip off the old block, much like Cristiano Ronaldo.

The defensive midfielder recently sat down for a brief interview with Spanish TV director Edu Aguirre on Chiringuito Inside. Interestingly, when asked to comment on his potential future teammate, Casemiro said, “Mbappé reminds me of Cristiano. He is on the pitch, he smells the goal. We have to be worried with this guy because he is going to score a goal. Cristiano was like that.” Mbappe will certainly welcome these praises with open arms, considering the fondness he has for the Portuguese superstar.

The PSG superstar has idolized the Al Nassr man since his childhood days, with even his room filled with posters of CR7. In fact, Mbappe has often been likened to Ronaldo. Should he complete his dream move in the upcoming transfer window, then without a doubt, the 2018 World Cup winner would be looking to create history at Real Madrid, like his idol did at the Santiago Bernabeu. Interestingly, Mbappe can face Casemiro in the Champions League finals, if both of their current clubs manage to pass their respective semi-final test.

Moreover, winning the European Cup against his future club will only help in making his case for his transfer. Meanwhile, a journalist from his own nation believes that Mbappe shouldn’t liken himself to Ronaldo or even to Lionel Messi

Kylian Mbappe has slowed down in the process of becoming Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s successor

According to French publication RMC’s columnist Daniel Riolo, Kylian Mbappe’s career progression has hit a plateau. Riolo believes that the World Cup winner failed to maximize his potential because he compared himself to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. “He[Mbappe] was on top of the world during the 2022 World Cup, he was next to stars, he scored goals in important matches.”

Instead, Riolo believes that only players who score 50-60 goals in a season are the ones who stand apart from the crowd alongside Ronaldo and Messi. He further suggested that Mbappe’s ego has also played a role in his stagnation, as consistently scoring goals has given him a false sense of being on par with Ronaldo and Messi. But it seems Casemiro has full faith in his future teammate.
