It’s time to stand and applaud the Red Dragons once again! Phil Parkinson and his side have proved their critics wrong once again, with the club securing a top-three spot on the League Two standings. The finish guarantees Wrexham direct promotion to League One. While the players have been the unsung heroes of the journey, it would be a mistake to take any credit away from co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The Hollywood duo have completely turned things around for the club since their takeover in 2021, developing the club into one of the fastest risers in English football!

Now, while many would think Wrexham was destined for greatness after the arrival of the Hollywood stars, their path to success hasn’t been a flowerbed. The duo has done an impressive job of leading from the front, unlike treating the club like a publicity stunt. Something that many critics expected them to do! While the promotion to League One is surely one of the club’s biggest achievements, some moments have etched themselves in the heart of every Wrexham fan over the past three years…

There are a few moments that come right to our minds when we think about the top Wrexham moments. However, none of them are as big as the National League win from last season that helped Wrexham secure their return to the EPL in well over three decades. In what was a picture-perfect finish, the Red Dragons finished at the top of the National League standings with a record 111 points.

What made the title race special was the team’s rivalry with Notts County. Wrexham and Notts County were neck-to-neck with each other for the entire season before Wrexham secured a win in their last game at home to wrap things around. You could see how special the win was for the Welsh club, with fans taking over the iconic Racecourse Ground to celebrate the achievement.

3. Paul Mullin is ‘HIM’

While football fans often have special chants for different occasions, there is one chant that has become synonymous with Wrexham fans. Any game at the Racecourse or away from home, you can catch Wrexham fans singing, “We’ve got Mullin, Super Paul Mullin, I don’t quite think you understand. He plays in red and white, He’s f*cking dynamite, We’ve got super Paul Mullin!”

Ever since joining Wrexham from Cambridge United, the Welsh striker has become a ray of hope for the clubs’ fans. Mullin since joining the club has made 131 appearances for the club scoring a staggering 99 goals to his name. The striker is just one goal away from etching his name into the history books for the club and seems well set to go past the milestone this season. Wrexham fans will hope that the player can continue firing on all cylinders in League One in the coming months.

2. What Wrexham’s men do, the ladies do it even better

If you thought what the men did in the national league was special, you had to witness the scenes at the Racecourse after the Women’s side secured the qualification to the Adran Premier League. While the promotion to the apex of Women’s Welsh football was tremendous in its own right, it was how the ladies did it that made it a hundred times bigger. Steven Dale’s side was unbeaten for the entirety of their campaign, heading into the promotion game against Briton Ferry. And with the target right in front of their sight, the women’s team did not miss with the team bagging a 1-0 win to send them through.

1. You are too old for doing that to my heart, Ben Foster!

Wrexham vs Notts County. With just five games left into the season, Wrexham and Notts County faced each other at the Racecourse Stadium in what is arguably the biggest game in the club’s history. Both teams heading into the game were level on points. Despite having 100 points from 41 games, Wrexham were trailing behind their arch-rivals on goal difference and needed to secure a win to take a step ahead in the title race.

The game saw Notts County and Wrexham battle for dominance with the home team securing a one-goal lead heading into the dying minutes of the game. However, a mistake inside the box from Wrexham gave Notts County the chance to level things up. And they’d have done just that if it wasn’t for one man; Ben Foster! The ex-Manchester United goalkeeper displayed his worth in what is perhaps the biggest moment in Wrexham’s history, with the goalkeeper diving to his right to stop Kedwin Scott, sending the Racecourse into a frenzy!
