Things are getting more and more frustrating for former Liverpool player Roberto Firmino at the moment. The star is one of the few soccer players who’s been having a torrid time in Saudi. As per reports, his club, Al-Ahli Saudi, is set to let go of the player from their squad and is looking for other options. Andreas Pereira, a Brazilian player, is one of them, who has shown good prospects in the English Premier League.

Firmino, along with quite a few of his Liverpool teammates, moved to SA after receiving great offers from the Saudi Pro League clubs. But the star’s form has been below par, as his only three goals for them came in his first match for the team. But could Pereira be a suitable replacement for Firmino at the Al Ahli?

The Jeddah-based club was taken over by PIF for the majority of its stake and spent heavily on big players. The team flashed 237 million dollars in acquiring big guns like Riyadh Mahrez, Gabri Viega, and others. It has now set its sights on Andreas Pereira, according to TNT Sports.

Pereira is in the second of a four-year contract with Fulham, which will end in 2026. Moreover, the player is also thinking about a potential move with an aspiration of making a comeback into the Brazilian national team. On the other side, the London-based club that has already provided SPL with one of the season’s biggest hits, Aleksandar Mitrovic, may accept an attractive offer from the Gulf. The club could initiate a move in the upcoming window itself, says TNT Sports.

Al Ahli will now look to empty the foreign player spot by selling Firmino, whose deal is valid until 2025. Other reports also suggest that Firmino may head back to Liverpool for a second stint. The star has not been part of the starting eleven of a game since October and is ready to get away from the Middle East. On the whole, as the transfer window knocks at the door, it would be intriguing to see where both the Brazilians will land up.
