Just when everything was getting back on track for Manchester United, the team hit a massive roadblock. Erik ten Hag and his men have been on an impressive run in their past few games, and a lot of credit goes to striker Rasmus Hojlund, who has completely turned a new leaf during the second half of the season. However, in what is a massive blow to the Red Devils, the Danish striker suffered a muscular injury during the team’s training session and is expected to miss the next two to three weeks of action.
Hojlund’s absence is a colossal blow for the side, already without the services of Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez, with the defenders out with extended injuries. Moreover, Hojlund was building a positive link-up with Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, and his absence could hurt the team’s momentum.
Manchester United took to their social media handle to announce Hojlund’s injury just minutes before Erik ten Hag’s press conference before the Fulham game. The Red Devils, in the caption, stated, “Rasmus Hojlund has suffered a muscle injury that will rule him out for two to three weeks. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Rasmus 👊.”

With the player out for at least fourteen days, Hojlund is bound to be unavailable for United’s clash against Fulham, followed by the FA Cup game against Nottingham Forest. To add more to the team’s woes, the Danish striker will probably be out on the sidelines ahead of the team’s game against Manchester City on the 3rd of March.

Can Manchester United afford Rasmus Hojlund’s absence?
Hojlund has played a crucial role in United’s performance as of late. The striker has scored eight goals in his last seven outings, scoring at least a goal each in every fixture he’s played this year. His absence in the coming games could see United struggle in the attacking third, with the Danish striker responsible for most of the team’s chances inside the opposition’s box.
