Ahead of the British Grand Prix, Hamilton received punishment from the FIA. That is because the F1 racer violated one of the rules in the F1 handbook. But that wouldn’t be a barrier for the driver as he strives to break his 19-month drought without a victory.

Lewis Hamilton was penalized by the FIA after a rule breach

Yesterday, Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton failed to report on time for the press conference ahead of the British Grand Prix. As per the FIA, Hamilton breached Article 19.1 a) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations. The section states that ‘drivers must be able to participate in official media and promotional activities’. That press conference was supposed to begin at 1:30 pm.

But the driver arrived a few minutes later and slid his way through the bunch of journalists. A team representative later noted that Hamilton had an extremely busy schedule as this was his home race. However, the stewards understood that it was difficult for him to move through the paddock. Luckily, this time he got away with just a reprimand.
